We just love this Lloyd Family Fall Portrait Session and it is not too late to book your own beautiful fall portrait session!

Ann, Preston and their son Darcy joined us this fall to get a new family portrait. They wanted a great image that they could use for their Holiday Card and even a few Christmas presents. The Lloyd family has been part of the Hayes & Fisk family, but we had not seen Darcy in a while. It was so fun to see how big he has become. We still can’t get over the image of him posing in those adorable plaid pants. In fact, all of the images turned out great!

The gardens at our studio are the perfect backdrop at any time of the year. We think Ann did a great job picking the perfect outfits to accentuate the natural fall colors.

We know that the temps are low in Richmond and it feels more like winter,  however, there is still time to take advantage of this beautiful, natural backdrop. Some of the most gorgeous family portraits we have done have been this time of year, right in our backyard.

Call Mary today to schedule your session so you can use these images for the holidays. They will give you a beautiful holiday card or make the perfect gifts for your friends and family.

Don’t forget, we are still scheduling Holiday Quick Takes! Visit our website for more information.

Fall is the best time in Central Virginia for a family road trip. Last week on Virginia This Morning, Mary talked about some great destinations around Virginia. She also discussed the importance of Documenting Family Fall Road Trips.

In the segment below, you will hear Mary and Bill Bevins talk about many wonderful destinations around Central Virginia. They begin their discussion with the mountains. First, they make a stop in Charlottesville where you can visit Carter’s Mountain to pick apples and sip on cider. Charlottesville has an endless amount of places to visit and activities to participate in throughout the year. Leaving Charlottesville, they move on to Wintergreen. Here you and your family can enjoy hiking, parks, Discovery Ridge. Finally, your travels to the mountains must include the overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway and local wineries and breweries along the way. All of these destinations make for the perfect family photo.

Then Bill makes sure Mary discusses “The Rivah”. A fall in Center Virginia wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Urbanna Oyster Festival. Next, they move on to Virginia Beach. There are many festivals and activities going on at the beach. Fall is also the perfect time to simply sit outside and enjoy the wonderful restaurants up and down the boardwalk.

Finally, they end at “home” in RVA. Mary discusses visiting Maymont Park, taking a Segway Tour, or simply enjoying some of Richmond’s rooftop restaurants. No matter which destination you choose, you are sure to have a great time. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful places to visit within two hours east or west.

Documenting These Moments

However, Mary wants to make sure we understand that while visiting these places as a family is truly a blessing; it is as important that we document them. As an empty nester, she can attest to how quickly your kids grow up. Family portraits are a great way to preserve these memories and they give you something to look at every day.

Each and every year local families hire Hayes & Fisk to photograph their family portraits, not only at home in Richmond but also all over the state. We travel from the mountains to the beach to help you created lasting memories. Take a look below at some of the portraits that line the walls of so many homes around Richmond. Call us today so we can make this happen for you and your family.

The Droste Family Fall Portrait Session was a complete success. They joined us at our Richmond, VA studio to get the perfect image for an oil portrait of their family. Sarah and Billy understand the importance of our heirloom portraits and their final image is going to look amazing in their foyer. This is a portrait that is going to be part of their legacy for many years to come.

While capturing the perfect image of their family, we also took some shots of Sydney and Luke. They both had amazing energy and were a delight to photograph. Luke’s silly dances and laughter made Jamie reflect back on the days when Jax (his godson, Mary’s son) was Luke’s age. Jamie could see a lot of Jax in Luke and it really makes you value children at this age. Sydney was adorable as well. She made sure Luke was “behaving”, she was a great big sister.

The cool blue color palette was intentional. The final product is going to serve as the perfect welcoming piece in their front entrance. It makes our hearts sing when families trust us to deliver the perfect heirloom piece to represent their family.

If you are considering a family portrait we encourage you to give Hayes & Fisk a call. We will sit down with you for a consultation and walk you through every step of the process. We will make it as seamless as possible. From our initial consultation to portrait installation, you will feel like part of the Hayes & Fisk family. Don’t hesitate another moment, give Mary and Jamie a call today. We promise you will be glad you did.
