On-Location Portrait Sessions with Hayes & Fisk

One of the most meaningful parts of portrait photography is choosing a location that feels personal. While we love welcoming families into the Hayes & Fisk studio and gardens, there are times when the best place for a session is somewhere that already holds a special piece of your story.

This on-location session is a beautiful example of that. The family’s barn, wooded driveway, open space, and beloved animals all became part of the portraits in a way that could never be recreated in a studio. The setting gave the images a relaxed, personal feeling while still allowing us to create polished portraits that feel timeless and intentional.

At Hayes & Fisk, we are always happy to talk through location options with our clients. Sometimes that means photographing at your home, family property, garden, barn, farm, or another meaningful place. These spaces often bring out natural connection because everyone feels comfortable. Children can move, pets can be included, and the final images reflect more than just how your family looks. They reflect where you are in this season of life.

We especially love when animals are part of the session. Horses, dogs, and family pets add so much personality and meaning to portraits. They are part of the family story, and including them helps create images that feel honest, warm, and memorable.

This session also shows how much variety can come from one location. From classic family portraits to mother-daughter moments, portraits with the horses, walking images along the wooded road, and sweet moments with the family dogs, each image adds another layer to the story.

Our goal is always to create portraits that feel personal, beautiful, and lasting. Whether we photograph you in our studio, in our gardens, or on location somewhere special to you, Hayes & Fisk will help create artwork that celebrates your family exactly where you are.
