Capturing Cherished Memories: The Kitces-Peck Family Portrait Session
Nineteen years ago, we had the pleasure of photographing Suzanne and Josh's spectacular wedding at The Jefferson Hotel, an event that remains one of our most elaborate and memorable weddings. The wedding, orchestrated by Suzanne's mom, Eileen Kitces, was a grand affair, marking a significant milestone earlier in our career, back in the days of film photography.
Fast forward to today, and we find ourselves on the brink of another significant moment: Rachael is about to graduate high school next year! Over the years, we've had the privilege of documenting several major milestones in the girls' lives, and this portrait session is a testament to those cherished moments.
After discussing with Suzanne where she envisioned displaying these portraits, we decided on a modern, black-and-white theme. Our session began with individual portraits of each family member, followed by group shots of just the girls, then with their mom, and finally with their dad. One of the highlights of the session was capturing Suzanne’s unique personality—a fleeting moment when she glanced at Josh with an expression that only Suzanne could make. This candid shot became Josh’s favorite, perfectly encapsulating his love for his adorable wife.
Next, we moved into family poses, striving to depict not only their close-knit relationships but also each person's individuality. Some of our favorite shots were of Suzanne and Josh together, reminiscent of how it all began. These moments are precious, as today’s parents often miss out on being photographed together, with one usually behind the camera.
Preserving these milestone moments for the Kitces-Peck family over the decades has been a rewarding experience for our studio. These photographs will someday be shared by Rachael and Sophia with their own children, continuing the legacy of captured memories.
Suzanne and Josh have beautifully frozen time, creating a wonderful and everlasting visual history of their family's journey. They will never regret taking the time to document these moments, as they hold the power to bring joy and nostalgia for generations to come.
